1. Trong những câu mà tôi dùng làm thí dụ trên, có nhiều câu là thành ngữ mà tôi nghĩ nhiều người biết, và những câu đó xưa nay cũng vẫn chỉ có bao nhiêu tiếng (chữ) đó mà thôi.
Tiếng Việt dùng trong văn nói, có rất nhiều câu không theo qui tắc văn phạm như văn phạm tây phương mà chữ quốc ngữ đă mượn. Trước khi có chữ quốc ngữ, tiếng Việt không có khái niệm "văn phạm" mà chỉ có "cú pháp". Ngày xưa muốn viết văn hay phải giỏi cú pháp. Môn văn phạm mới có hơn thế kỷ nay, trong khi tiếng Việt đă có mấy ngàn năm nay. Ngày xưa tổ tiên ta vẫn nói như vậy mà ai cũng hiểu. Tiếng Việt, trước khi có chữ quốc ngữ và môn văn phạm đi kèm, cách nói (và viết) không theo qui tắc cấu tạo mệnh đề như ngày nay mà ông Nguyễn Kiến Hưng nói, nghĩa là không nhất thiết phải có chủ từ, động từ (và túc từ) như ông Nguyễn Kiến Hưng đ̣i hỏi.
Tôi xin thí dụ:
Thoắt trông nhờn nhợt màu da
Ăn ǵ to lớn đẫy đà làm sao
(Kiều - Nguyễn Du)
Cả hai câu ttên đều không có chủ từ.
Hoặc:
Trước đèn xem truyện Tây Minh
Gẫm cười hai chữ nhân t́nh éo le
(Lục Vân Tiên - Nguyễn Đ́nh Chiểu)
Cả hai câu này cũng không có chủ từ.
Những câu thành ngữ thường ít có chủ từ, thí dụ:
- Tốt dây xấu củ.
- Xanh vỏ đỏ ḷng.
- Đen bạc đỏ t́nh.
- Chồn chân mỏi gối.
- Tím ruột bầm gan.
- Tan vàng nát ngọc.
- Lạc phím chùng tơ.
- Trắng răng thơm miệng.
- Trắng da dài tóc.
- Vân vân... (c̣n nhiều nữa)
2. Nếu dịch tiếng Việt sang Anh văn (hoặc Pháp văn chẳng hạn), th́ bị lệ thuộc vào văn phạm của (những) ngôn ngữ đó, sẽ làm sai lạc cấu trúc ngôn ngữ tiếng Việt. Hơn nữa ở đây chúng ta cùng bàn về tiếng Việt (và chữ Việt), chúng ta đang bàn về cú pháp chữ Việt (và tiếng Việt), không bàn về văn phạm Anh văn.
Văn nói của tiếng Việt, một câu có khi chỉ có một tiếng (hoặc chữ) nên không cần chủ từ (và túc từ).
Thí dụ:
Hỏi: Anh ăn cơm chưa ?
Trả lời: Chưa.
Hỏi: Tết anh mua dưa hấu loại nào ?
Trả lời: Ruột đỏ.
Hỏi: Chuyến xe đ̣ này về đâu ?
Trả lời: Saigon.
Có những sách viết theo văn nói, kể cả những đoạn văn miêu tả chứ không riêng ǵ những đoạn văn đối thoại.

Trong câu đối thoại không riêng ǵ tiếng Việt mà tiếng các nước khác cũng vậy, có nhiều từ được hiểu ngầm.
