Chuyện kể rằng: Một con chuột nhắt ngồi co rúm thân hình trong vòng kềm tỏa của con mèo gìa ở góc sân. Mật đã bị vỡ nên con chuột có đôi mắt lờ đờ như chờ chết. Tuy thế, thỉnh thoảng nó cố gượng nhướng lên để nhìn ra ngoài. Thảm thay, đôi mắt không còn thần khí ấy chỉ nhìn thấy đôi chân trước của con mèo hình cánh cung cao như đỉnh núi. Đã thế, đôi chân ấy còn hung bạo làm sao chứ? Nó cứ như sẵn sàng thu nhỏ cái vòng cung lại, hoặc năng lên, đặt…. nhẹ lên thân mình vốn đã bị bầm dập vì những vêt thương của con chuột nhắt.

An Air Force chief master sergeant who died saving three wounded comrades from enemy fire in Laos over forty years ago is being posthumously honoured by President Barack Obama.
The White House says Obama will present the medal to survivors of Richard Etchberger on September 21.

Hero: Etchberger gave his life to make sure his injured
comrades were safely on the helicopter in Laos

Sgt Etchberge's heroic actions were not recognised at the time because the Americans were not supposed to have troops in Laos.

According to the White House, the Pennsylvania native showed 'conspicuous gallantry' when he deliberately exposed himself to enemy fire to help his wounded comrades into rescue slings so they could be airlifted to safety.
